CTA Professional Conversion Programme (PCP)

The CTA Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) is a prestigious program offered by the Institute of Chartered Tax Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICTAZ). This program provides an exceptional opportunity for qualified professionals to attain a Post-Graduate Diploma in Applied Taxation and the Chartered Tax Accountants (CTA) designation.


Programme Overview

The program is structured to be completed in four months, focusing on practical applications in tax compliance, planning, and policy. Learners will develop essential competencies that are immediately transferable to the workplace, ensuring they are equipped to tackle complex tax issues effectively.


Entry Requirements

To qualify for registration as a student member for the CTA Professional Conversion Programme (PCP), candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be a member of ICAZ, ACCA, CIMA, CIS, ICPAZ, SAAA, or IAC
  • Hold a Master's Degree in Taxation or Accounting
  • Be a current or former ZIMRA employee with over 10 years of work experience


Fees Structure

The total course fees are structured to ease financial commitment, allowing payments in three installments:

1. Registration Fees: USD $60.00 (one-time payment)

2. Course Fees: USD $650.00, payable in full or over three installments:

  • 1st Installment: USD $250.00
  • 2nd Installment: USD $200.00
  • 3rd Installment: USD $200.00

PCP101: Foundations of Taxation and Compliance

  • Section A - History and Foundations of Taxation
  • Section B - Statutory Interpretation for Tax Practitioners
  • Section C - Customs and Excise Tax Practice
  • Section D - Tax Compliance Frameworks and Governance
  • Section E - Emerging Foundations and Future Directions

PCP102: Advanced Tax Strategy and Advisory

  • Section A - Strategic Tax Planning
  • Section B - Management of Taxation & Ethics
  • Section C - International Taxation (Advanced Competencies)
  • Section D - Tax Advisory Practice & Professional Application

PCP103: Tax Administration and Risk Management

  • Section A - Tax Administration Frameworks
  • Section B - Tax Audit and Planning (Tax Audit Methodology)
  • Section C - Tax Risk Management
  • Section D - Compliance Monitoring & Administrative Practice

PCP104: Capstone in Tax Advocacy and Practice

  • Section A - Tax Advocacy & Litigation
  • Section B - Applied Taxation (Capstone Integration)
  • Section C - Behavioural Taxation
  • Section D - Tax Technology and Automation
